I am currently a special education program assistant in a middle school in Berwyn. My past roles in education include Special Education Program Assistant, Academic Counselor, English teacher and advisor, Special Education teacher and case manager, and Public Programs educator. My experience teaching students in Special Education was as a substitute teacher and under a short-term emergency certificate. Throughout my experience, I have maintained positive relationships with mentors in communities (via student internship programming), and I have maintained positive relationships with students and their families. I just resigned as an Academic Counselor at a southwest Chicago public, alternative, and charter high school (it was all three), where I lead school-wide scheduling and testing (including STAR and PSAE), and taught 2 sections of a class, where students utilized the research process, developed an essential question that they then researched, completed APA style research papers, completed research portfolios, and then presented information. In addition, I have an incredible amount of patience with students and have tutored a wide range of ages and abilities in various subjects both at Sylvan Learning Center, via the schools I have worked at, and independently. I work with a very high level of integrity, I am dependable and committed, and I have a breadth of experience that will serve this company. I held a position as the only public relations administrator in a corporate communications team for a world-wide personal and professional training and development company. During that time I received superior training in communication and productivity and I have taken numerous courses on my own with the company.
